Our couch is in, but it isn't in

Our couch arrived last week. Here it is sitting in the garage at the storage lot:


This is the Monaco Double Recliner in chocolate (IL117). From the samples this fabric looked identical to that in our Axis. Looking closely at the parts I could see it does appear that it will look factory once installed.

The guys said they will have it in the RV sometime next week--just in time for us to put it away for the winter.

Its shipped with the backs of the two recliners disconnected. Presumably to make it easier to fit through the RV door.

Checked in on the camper on my way home from work yesterday. They had just pulled the RV over to the workshop to start working on it. Discussing with the guy who will do the work (he was just finishing up a different unit) and he was more concerned with if they could get the old couch out (as the new one is all in pieces and he thinks it should go in pretty easy).

Stopped by again this morning to see if I could see a work in progress (as its our storage lot, the workshop closes up for the weekend but I have a key to the gate and he was working on it outside). Sure enough the camper is sitting where it was but our couch is gone and the center section of the new couch is sitting in the middle of the slideout. Looks to me like it will fit pretty well, but I'll know more when he finishes it up on Monday.

Just looked at the link to the recliners. Looks like it's going to be nice. At some point I would like to replace our jacknife sofa with recliners.

The middle back pulls forward to reveal cup holders.

Looks great Jamie. So how far away from the wall did it end up being.

Also I'll assume its mounted to the floor with brackets. If yes can you please take some pics of the mounting.

The couch is 120V powered so they had to modify the junction box on the floor to add two plugs:

The two table supports interfered with the recliner, but fortunately they could relocate them to the front where there was some room:


The material color ended up being a little bit darker than the sample they sent (the sample matched the front captains chairs exactly, the couch is noticeably darker). Nonetheless, however, I'm quite happy with the result.

The only really bad part: I'm winterizing it this weekend and putting it away for the winter! LOL

Yes its securely mounted to the slideout--I think they reused the bolts they removed from the old couch.

I'd say that its about 5" from the wall (with the chairs reclined), the old couch had about 6" clearance from the wall.

Thank Jamie. I just requested samples. Their headquarters is a couple miles from my house. Im going to call to see if they have a showroom

They have gotten a bit fancy, but one thing for sure...the recliners are so much more comfortable than the factory couch. We have enjoyed ours from day one.

Now would it not be great if the 27.7 could have the FACTORY OPTION of recliners instead of the jack knife couch?? And throw in the opiton to do away with the drop down bed and put some storage compartments up there while they are at it.

I'll let you know when the bill comes . The lot we store our camper at also has an auto restoration business there that they offer up the mechanics services to the RV owners. Call me lazy but it has been so nice to just pick up the phone and "Hey could you change the oil on our RV? Great" without having to do anything else (scheduling an appointment and making the time to take it somewhere). Thus before I ordered the couch I approached them with the question: "If I order a couch and have it shipped here, can you guys install it?" "Sure, if it will fit through the door" was the answer. (I figured as such because I've seen some of the stuff they've done to other RVs on the lot--a few were almost complete rebuilds from the walls up.)

A thing to note: If you do order a couch or furniture from shop4seats.com you have to have it delivered somewhere with a fork lift or some other way to get the palletized couch off the truck.

I just called the factory. They have a show room at their headquarters in La Habra Ca. Wife and I might take the 10 minute ride over there to take a look. The girl I spoke with said the showroom is more home theater seating but a few mh things are on display,

Well Maria and i spent over an hour at the showroon. The boss is trying to talk me into the monument recliner because im 6'4".
But at $2200 i think ill pass
