Portable black water tanks

I have a 2014 33sw super C with 40gl black water tank. Using caution I am full after 6 days. 2 questions, is this what I can expect and secondly what is the best portable system and how is it stored. I plan mostly dry camping and prefer 8 to 10 days without moving to dump. All ideas and suggestions appreciated.

I know that Camping World lists those portable dump-tanks in their catalogs...

Do you have a TOAD that you pull behind the Super C? The reason I ask is because when you dump that 40 gallons into the portable black tank, you are going to have to pull it to the dump station to empty it. 40 gal of water (etc) is going to weigh in excess of 300 lbs. That's a lot to pull. If you are going to use the Super C to pull it, you are going to be disconnecting so you might as well just take the Super C to the dump station.

I've camped in numerous military FAMCAMPS with waste & electric but no sewer hookup. I generally get 4 to 5 days on the black tank in my Vegas before I have to disconnect and take it to the dump station. It usually takes me longer to drive to the dump station and dump the tank than it does to disconnect and reconnect at the site.

I have a blue boy and use it for gray but I'd be hard pressed to put black water in it. Do people do that?

I have an 18 gallon and have used it often,works great just flush it and use a deodor stuff.

I used to have a 10 gallon portable when my first trailer was semi permanent. Hated that thing. But they do work. They weigh about 80 pounds full

It of course depends on how many are using your facility. For my wife and I, just the two of us, six days is about it, but the tank on the Gemini is probably a bit smaller than yours. Our first couple of times out, it filled in 2 or 3 days, that was because the bathroom sink drains into the black tank, didn't in our previous RV. We are now very careful about using the bathroom sink. Since whenever we are out, 97% of the time or more, we are connected to sewer, its not much of a problems for us. Not sure I would want to mess with a portable black tank, in fact I'm pretty sure I would not.

We plan to be mostly remote so need to figure out our limitations. 8-10 days I believe is maximum, if that. Time and experience will answer the question. I also prefer not to have more stuff to deal with such as portable tanks. I need to determine if vanity sink drains into black water tank.

Your bathroom sink probably does drain into the black tank. You can easily find out, open the grey valve only, and run hot water into the sink. If you get hot water out, it goes into the grey, if you get nothing its going into the black tank.

You can also give Thor a call and get the engineering drawings for your coach (have your VIN handy). Those drawings would be the intent for your coach--if it matches...well that is another story.

Thor drawings are not necessarily accurate. I had Thor send me the plumbing drawings, which clearly show the kitchen sink draining into the black tank, which it does not. It drains into the grey. Drawings are as designed, not necessarily as built or assembled.
