Questions for TST 507 users

I’m looking at the TST 507 for my Freedom Elite (24’) I have rubber valve stems with braided stainless extenders that go through a rubber doughnut in a wheel hole on the inside tires & metal extenders on the outside wheels. Has anyone had problems with the sensors eventually breaking the rubber valve stem? Also I read that the unit can interfere with the back up camera. Again, anyone experience that? And lastly, is the color display really that hard to see in sunshine?
My problem is I’ve read way too many Amazon reviews😁
Thanks in advance

I have the 507, not flow through. I do not have rubber stems on the coach, but do on the Jeep and boat trailer. Thousands of miles of trouble-free use of the TST system. I did find that the monitor was hard to read in bright sun until I added the optional sun shade. Now no problem at all.

I had the EEztire on a previous motorhome, non-flow thru sensors. I won't answer the interference part of the question but generally the sensors are recommended to installed on metal rigid valve stems. That of course creates a problem when you have a toad with internal sensors and rubber stems and you want something you can see in the motorhome cab. My previous Wrangler was like that and I put the button sensors on the Jeep rubber stems and through about 50K miles towing, had no issues. On the motorhome itself. I had solid metal extensions that the inner ran through a stabilizer disc and then the TPMS sensor on the outside of the the disc. I early on had one inner with a small leak but after properly tightening, no further leaks and held tire pressure well. For your inner I would recommend solid metal valve extensions the whole distance. Just my opinion and preference.

X2 on actual metal duality valves. Some folks seem to have no problems with flexible extenders but my experience wasn’t great. Rigid metal valve stems work great and make checking/filling all tires a cinch. My set of 4 (puts all 4 valve stems on the outside of the outside tires) cost $120 and installation was about the same. It requires removing and remounting the tires from the wheels. I had it done at the same time I had the front end alignment checked. Obviously it would be cheaper to do when replacing the tires, but even without it was well worth it. IMO.

Thanks for the metal valve stem tips. TST said I’d be fine with rubber valve stems since I have the rubber disc that goes in a wheel hole. (But they are in the game to sell products) I can get my tires mounted and balanced free from where I retired from so all it will cost me is valve stems

I had TST507 on all 10 tires of my dually truck & 5th wheel, all had metal valve stems & didn't have any issues reading the monitor, it was mounted on the far left end of the dash.
Personally I think with your valve extensions secured so they don't flop around while traveling you may be good just adding the sensors, but Im also not the guy that may have the flat tire along side the highway.
As for TST507 I have recommended that system to numerous rvers as it's a great product. It may not be the cheapest system on the market, but as they say "you get what you pay for!". In 6 years of fulltime use I only changed 6 of the 10 batteries, sold the unit to a friend when we sold the 5th wheel that he used it 3 more years without issue before selling his rv, he did replace all the batteries so he could start out fresh.

I hope so, but probably not. They have to remove the tire from the wheel and remount it after replacing the valve stem. It’s still worth it IMO.

mine came with flexible extenders. I fought them a long while leaking.... eventually replaced them with some rigid extenders. Better, but still not perfect.
Eventually I took my wheel simulators off for good, put those in my attic for storage and just put my TST sensors straight on the stems. (the simulators had smaller holes that I could not reach through). I seriously wish that I'd done that right away. So much easier to just still my had through the hand holes in the wheels and screw them off for storage and on for trips.
