Pretty sure it was just a 1/4” HSS drill bit.. It only needs to be an RCH bigger hole than the size zip-tie you’re using...

LT - I, for one, was not that worried about my radiator being damaged by bugs. What I was trying to prevent is having my radiator, condenser and various coolers plugged up with bugs. When you wash a radiator or any cooler out with garden hose or compressed (be very careful to use low pressure) air, you need to do it from the back side. You’re basically making the debris exit in the opposite direction.
