Faucet upgrade woes

I have been wanting to upgrade the galley faucet on my 2016 Four Winds 35SK for a while now. We have touch faucets in the house, so I thought I would convert in the RV. Well I got the faucet, went and picked up the RV.. and low and behold, it appears there is no way from the outside or the inside to do the plumbing without some surgery. To add to the pics, the sink is a drop in under countertop, and the width between the bowls is smaller than my hand and butted right up against the inner wall. Also, looks like it could do silent damage if anything started leaking down there.

Im not gonna have one of my "Thor what were you thinking?" moments yet but...hopefully someone has solved this without a saw.

Any thoughts or ideas?
Thanks
Rick

Sometimes an upgrade that sounds great: doesn't look so good in the harsh light of reality...

One of my favorite sayings...."you can't make chicken salad out of chicken poop" If it ain't leaking, say a short prayer and pick another project. Have your wife turn the water on when you touch it.

The most 'challenging' repair I ever did on a motor home was replacing the kitchen faucet in my last coach. Lucky for me, there was a lot of plastic involved in the construction of the factory faucet.

The dealer gets to fix our sink plumbing that fell off on our last road trip, although I'm tempted to do it myself.

My kitchen faucet quit working this past summer -- neither hot or cold water would come out. Could not find where it was obstructed. Decided that I should replace the faucet. When I looked at how the original was mounted, the amount of space to work in under the sink, and how obstructed the access was I decided the aggravation was not worth the cost of having an expert do the work.

I had to take the RV to my service guy for some A/C work so I had him change the faucet. He went to Lowes and found a Moen suitable substitute for $129. His labor amounted to $60 for the faucet replacement. So for that $60 labor I saved a heap or aggravation and cursing.

Faucet is working great and the curved neck worked way better than the original. He took the original apart and fount an internal part (that was not replaceable ) was completely blocked with sediment.

Your story is a great illustration of how the savings in aggravation can often outweigh the cost of paying someone to do the work...

can you get to the clips holding the sink in place?
maybe pull the whole sink and do the work on the bench...

That looked like a really tight place to work: even if you had it upside down!
But I am often wrong about these things...

I think most "under the counter top" sinks are glued in place...not sure about MH's though...most brick and mortar logic does not apply to MH's.

Gritz got it right -- my sink had two clips; however, it was completely siliconed around the entire periphery. Didn't want to risk damaging the fiberglass sink cutting away the silicone.

The faucet mount was behind the sink drains. If I put my hands together like I was praying I could get them through the limited space between the counter edge and the top of the first shelf's bottom under the sink and wedged behind the sink drain plumbing and water lines. But once having wedged my hands into that tiny space I couldn't move them at all (except to give one of my middle fingers priority in extending).

Decided changing a faucet did not justify dismantling the entire sink, drains and water lines. Turned it over to the experts who accomplished it for 60 bucks.

..."If I put my hands together like I was praying"...

Interesting how common this action is every time we approach our coaches with tools...maybe there's a silver lining here somewhere.....Owning a MH and keeping your wits and humor about you moves you up a few slots in line at The Gate!! When you get there, just tell St. Peter..."I owned a motorhome...and didn't commit suicide or kill anyone else"!
