Rear Camera help

In hopes to improve my visibility at night with my rear camera, I went down and picked up an LED off road light (30 dollars) and a 7 pin trailer harness (28 dollars).

I hooked up the 7 pin harness, while the RV was in Reverse (motor off ) and use a multi meter to find which wire was hot when reverse is engaged ( yellow for me ).

After a quick solder job, I connected the hot lead of the off road light to the yellow wire and the ground to the white wire ( on the 7 Pin harness ).

Since I do not tow anything, I used the class IV's hitch pin hole to mount the light.

The LED light I mounted, puts the itty bitty reverse LED bar on my windsport to shame. And best of all, the back up camera shows me whats behind me in the dark!

That's a great idea. Might be the next addition.

Looking at your light again gave me another idea for mounting. I have a black metal receiver cover which is held in place by a hitch pin. If I mounted the light on the end of the cover it would be removable if I did need to tow. The wiring could be run thru the receiver, be protected, and out of sight.

Still think it's a great idea! I think Harbor Freight has a light like that, might have to make a trip over there today.

Same Idea.. Different approach

I need additional light for connecting and disconnecting the toad. So i went and picked a set of TMS LED-XT-18W30D-K 18W. If you look under the bumper there are holes to install into. I simply tapped into the back up lights. Took no time at all and no need to run power to the lights.

Hope this helps.

I plugged the composite video cable from my camera switch box into my Garmin. I agree with others here that the video display on the Axxera radio stinks on ice.

I put two 18W LED lights onto the rear "window sill". They are connected to the reverse lights.
