A thought for the 3 light rule. Find a light bar with 2 separate lights. Could install where one light is now. Save you from drilling holes.
Just a thought.

If there's no vehicle inspection I think I'd pass, claim the IR lights in the camera are red. I just remember some posts on this Forum about failing inspection due to burnt out clearance lights, couldn't remember if California was one of the states.

Thanks again for ideas and comments. Another couple hours today and i restored the third light and relocated the camera just below it. Of course in that three inch span i encountered a structual aluminum frame to deal with but i managed to pass the wires to the 12v source and all is sealed and working (again).
The camera works so well in fact I'm considering a licence plate camera add on if the cost is reasonable. To be continued...
