We have been using a heavy duty Velcro strip for over 4 years with great results.

Got a couple of these from Amazon, used them on the inside and outside fridges. Easy to put on and use, attach with double sided tape. Very secure and don’t look bad. Sorry the picture is sideways!

Can’t get the link to post? Search: child safety lock for refrigerator. There are several different options, you can get packs of the locks in various amounts depending on how many you want. For the fridges I placed the single piece on the door and the strap part on the side, when you unlock the strap it swings out of the way. Hope this was helpful for you!

I'd like to find a latch/lock that can hold the
fridge door cracked open (emptied and off) while under way. The clever slide latch built into the handle for this purpose doesn't stay engaged. I've looked at these baby locks online but they seem to be opposite of what I want.

I wonder if that would work on the 'Fridge in the house?
It might help keep me from getting into too many snacks...

Maybe a motion detected recording "Step away from the fridge...Tubby". But DW sez I'd ignore that one too.
