Replacing Induction Stove with Propane Stove

I have a 2019 Challenger with induction Stove which wich i wish wasa propane stove or a combination propane/induction stove. My rig has a 25lbs propane tank that is hearting my water heater. So i am hinking it shouldnt be too much work running a propane hose to the stove. Anyone tried this?

It shouldn't be too difficult to do. Trace the propane lines underneath your rig and find an appropriate place to either cut the line and put a tee in it or find a tee and make it into a cross. Then run the new propane line up and underneath the new stove.

You can do all of this with copper tubing and flare connections (or maybe RVs use compression fittings, but flares are much better). Make sure that all of your connections except the final one to the stove are below the floor where leaks won't be as disastrous.

I recently added an outside Propane connection for my Blackstone. That is, my ‘17 Vegas did not have the exterior propane connection factory add-on.

Thor runs their propane from tank to end-point via rubber hoses with standard 3/8” fittings.
For my propane cooktop, Thor connects the 3/8” rubber hose from tank to a brass hose (under the counter) for the final 2’ into cooktop connection (see photo below)

Bottomline, I added a 3/8” brass T at that connection, then ran a rubber hose to the location I desired, the exterior wall.
3/8” propane Rubber hoses are available in different lengths.

You can do same for your mod:
- Run your T off the Furnace or water heater, then rubber hose to area underneath stovetop.
Then connect to brass hose remainder of distance.

Not than it really matters but all exposed propane line should be black steel. I would not like to be in a coach where debris punctures a copper propane line. If it is shielded or above the floor go for it.

I already have a propane connection outside my rig, that i can trace and use a T. Just to be clear, should i use a rubber or brass hose from the T to the stove?

I just went under the rig where the outside connection is, and it's right next to the propane tank.

I have noticed that Thor has been making changes to the stove tops over the last few years- 2 propane burners in 2018, 1 propane/1 induction in 2019, and then back to 2 propane burners (with electronic ignition) in 2020.
Is there a reason in particular you want to change your cook tops? I have never used induction but i know a lot of people like it.
In response to your question- my 2018 vegas has a large gas header that splits the gas from the tank to the hot water heater, cook top, fridge, and exterior port with flexible black hoses.

We dry camp alot, and indiction cooktop draws alot of power, and we dont like using generators much. We can avoid it by just having a propane cooktop.

Just curious if you completed your modification, as we are considering doing the same on our 2018 Compass 23TR. Asked our local RV dealer about it, and they thought we would have to add a vent or hood if we went to propane cooktop.

Our induction cooktop has a protective metal plate on the underside of the cabinet over the cooktop, and is by a window, but no hood or vent.

But I should point out that there is a roof vent and fan about two feet to the left, and right behind where the Chef would stand.

I also was interested in changing up the induction with propane but and spoke to my RV tech who could do it but the cost was more than I am prepared to shell out. My solution was I bought a butane single burner stove (Coleman, $30 at Walmart) and it works great, just open a window a bit and turn on the fan. I bought a piece of 1/2 inch cutting board from a restaraunt supply house and cut it to cove the induction then put rubber feet at the corners so it does not slide while in motiom. The stove also works as a cooking source during a power outage.
