Replacing L-shaped Sofa

We're beginning to settle into our new ACE 27.1 but one thing I'm not happy with is the L-shaped couch. It's fine when sitting at the table eating, but with no other sofa in the unit we find ourselves sitting there when forced to sit inside to avoid weather, heat, etc. Since our eating time is a small fraction of the day, we'd like something more comfortable to sit at.

I'd like to replace the L-shaped sofa with maybe a reclining sofa or even a jack-knive sofa.

I called Thor and they told me to call Lexington but after 2 vmails, noone from Lexington will call me back.

Any suggestions on who to talk to about doing this?

You may very well find that there may be some equipment type items and wiring under the dinette. Have you removed the seats and looked under them yet?

If there is nothing under the seats, it might not be too hard to do.

Replacing L-Shaped Sofa

I have a 2016 ACE 27.1 and want to replace the L shaped sofa with 2 recliners. Appreciate any input on whether this can be done and how.
Alternative is to replace the Captain Chairs with something that has a foot rest.

We also are trying to add more comfortable seating in place of the dinette in our 2015 Windsport 27K which has the same seating arrangement as your ACE. I have looked under the seating and found that the section along the bathroom wall has alot of electrical and duct work under it. The section along the outside wall has two sections of duct in there which I think could be removed allowing the seat to be removed. Please let us know if you come up with replacement seating.

We have since sold our ACE and didn't change out the couch/dinette.

Why did you sell?

Tholtman, would you share why you sold your ACE and what you replaced it with, if you did?

Upgrade to D/R seating

We have a 2016 ACE 27.1 and never cared for the dining/living seating. They did not have enough depth and the foam is garbage. We own an Upholstery shop and made some changes. As the one seat has all of the electrics under it, we only changed it by taking the curved end off and replacing with a flat board. This took off 4" for the aisle. We made a cushion with 5" HD foam and a Dacron wrap. We took the other seat and moved it out 4", removed the sleeper and built a new cushion with 5" HD foam and wrapped with Dacron. The extra depth is much more comfortable and allows one to sleep there with plenty of width and length. More changes to come but here is a pix of the completed seating.
