Replacing/modifying Valances

Since we feel like there is limited window space, the valances (which we also don't care for the "Arabian" look & colors) seem to take up a bit of our view.

We took all the valances down to clean them, but now wondering if we could replace them with something a bit smaller? Has anyone changed out their valances, modified them or have ideas?

We did in our 24F. My wife made curtains from RV patterned fabric and we installed them with good old fashioned curtain rods. It gave us more light and more viewing area.

Would you do the work yourself or hire it out?

Good to know the good old fashioned curtains worked out!

We would likely do it ourselves.

Does anyone install mini-blinds in an RV or are they too noisy while driving?
We have had a 24' travel trailer for 17 years with blinds and love them, but haven't been in it while it's moving!

Curtains rate right up there with carpet, DON'T want either!
Our last 2 rvs had the day/night roller shades & would recommend them over blinds.

What do you dislike about curtains? Our newly purchased (used) RV has the roller shades, but we have never had them or used them before. Along with the valances, they seem to take out about 2" of our window view, and this Thor model has (IMO) very limited window views. But now I'm curious about the curtain and carpet aversion! Thanks!

Collect dust/dirt & to me just look extremely old fashioned especially in a rv.
We've remodeled enough houses tearing out the carpet to find all the crap that's sifted through it, regardless of the amount of vacuuming or cleaning, that's absolutely gross. We haven't had carpet in a home since the mid '90s & not had curtains longer than that, vertical or horizontal blinds.
