Hinged/Foldable Mattress Choices?

I’ve searched and didn’t find the answer I am looking for.
We hate the mattress in our 2022 Thor Chateau 27R.
While there are many options for mattress upgrades out there, I can’t find any that have the 70/30 split style that is necessary for our slide out.
Any tips BESIDES a topper?

We had one custom built at Brother's Bedding in Knoxville, TN. They had us try several mattresses in their showroom until we found what we liked. We left the old one with them for a model and had them make it two inches narrower so it would be easier to make the bed. The new mattress is great. We had two pads on the original and it still was like sleeping on the floor.

Another happy Mattress Insider customer.
We ordered our custom cut hinged mattress for our ACE 27.2 on January 6th. Mattress Insider finished fabrication and shipped it on January 10th. Fed Ex delivered it today, January 14th.
We have installed it and love the quality and firmness of the mattress. We were a bit nervous about ordering a mattress without the benefit of trying it out but the reps at Mattress Insiders talked us through what we required and made suggestions on what they felt would fit our needs.
Now finally Mrs. MJC is agreeing to get out of the cold and head out for some warmer climes!! Whoopee!!

IME, no. They try to put the fold at a non-critical location for comfort, and the hinge is on the top surface, so there's a continuous surface for the bed. Mine is a little above where my knees are.

Our experience has been no, we don't feel the seam. Hinge/seem is 24" up from the bottom of the bed.

We don't feel it. As stated, it folds at the top so seamless and the seam is located at a non heavy contact area.

We do not feel the fold in the bi-fold mattress but you remind me of sleeping on my mothers hide-a-bed living room sofa when visiting her. I think a person would be more comfortable sleeping in a rock quarry. That sofa had a crossbar that was in a perfect location to press into the center of my back. Mother probably kept that sofa to discourage her children from moving back home!

In our previous Vegas 25.2, we fixed the comfort problem with a foam pad and a padded mattress cover over that. That extra thickness prevented the mattress from folding more than about 90 degrees, so I used a bungee to keep it partially folded.

The one thing to take into consideration on any mattress upgrade is the weight.
I was surprised at the actual weight of then new hinged 8"Park Meadow mattress. The rep I dealt with said he believed it would be in the 80-85 lb range. The Fed Ex shipping label listed it at 115 lbs. The original Denver crap mattress I suspect didn't weigh much more than 50-60 lbs. (this old fat guy hauled it out unassisted). We are at very near GVW for our coach so an additional 50-60 lbs is significant. Oh well I have been threatening to go through the rig and get rid of stuff we haul and seldom use so I now have reason to do so. And I could afford to lose some weight myself!
