Single best simple mod you have made?
For me I could just barely reach the vent cranks so...
Saw a kit at CW that replaces the factory handles with a new handle that has a loop attached. It came with a 3' crank, basically a pole with an open loop on the end. All going well but... One crank handle in rear was different style. So I cut off the stem on new loop handle, drilled out the hole to allow the screw to pass through then super glued it to the old handle.
Now I can easily open and close the vents without stretching, even at an angle.

My best simple mod was installing Fantastic Vent covers over the three ceiling vent fan covers.
I can leave all the ceiling vents wide open in a pouring rainstorm!

Simple and most used mod is probably the levels I put in the cab.

All, this post will combine a simple mod and an idea for those traveling with pets.
For our last road trip I designed a simple modification that added almost 6 sq feet of floor space and gave us a nice place out of the way place to put the dog bed.
I cut a piece of 22" X 34 1/2"out of 5/8" plywood, painted with some black textured spray paint and then, once we were buttoned down and ready to drive put it over the step well and then placed the dog bed there. Later, once we were ready to call it a night, set it up again and the old lab had her bed over the steps and out of the walk way.
It stores behind the couch when not in use.

Our simple mod is just putting a tray on top of the doghouse (with the extra layer of fatmat inside the doghouse the top just doesn't get that warm). Its held on with some velcro to keep it from sliding off.
Now we can put a bunch of stuff on there without it sliding all over the place.

Of the mods I made to the Challenger I have to say the one I made to the fresh water tank drain that allows me to sanitize the water hoses at the same time I sanitize the fresh water system has to be the best.
The mod can be viewed here:

Did that mod make them more quiet during transit? Mine are a bit noisy while driving.

Not simple but the best so far was to add Roadmaster Sway Bars to both front and rear. Like night and day better handling, so much so I even found myself relaxing a bit with one hand on the wheel. It is sad that Thor would allow something to go out the door the way they do. Ford could upgrade sway control for a few hundred bucks per vehicle if the manufactures would insist on it. Sorry for placing it here but I had to tell somebody!Tomorrow I have an appointment to have the thing weighed and tires adjusted accordingly and an alignment.

Single best SIMPLE mod has been removing the OEM shower curtain and liner and replacing with a light weight nylon one. Folded it over on itself in center so it's length is exactly as long as the track. Velcro added at vanity cabinet and wall at toilet. Result -- liner does not stick to body when showering.

Getting it aligned!
After that the list gets long. Most are documented in the Axis/Vegas mod's thread.

Added valve in fresh water supply line to fill water tank without disconnecting hose and dragging around to curb side to add water or fill.
Most likely it was not a camper that designed that feature.

I've done a similar thing. I put some blocks inside the well the got some 1x10's with a piano hinge. Stained them to march the interior then coated with a clear floor polymer. Folds up when not in use and is flat with the floor.

This keeps the pantry door open so when we slide out the pantry it does not gouge the inside of the door!

That is the greatest improvement. The locks drive me nuts and I never thought of adjusting them. Thanks ThorRut

When I replaced my 751 locks, all key slots were positioned to be vertical when locked. Makes it easy to know they are locked with a quick glance.

Hi there! Can you tell me what the curtain that you removed is made of? I'm looking for just what you're getting rid of - I think - so would be interested to know why you changed it out.
We want to remove our sliding glass doors, put up an expandable rod and install a curtain to give us more elbow room inside the shower enclosure.
I contacted Thor to ask where I might purchase a curtain similar to then shown in the 2016 Axis 24.1 and they referred me to my local dealer. Haven't contacted them yet. But depending on your comments about the curtain you're removing I might go another direction!
Thanks!
