RV Roof Vent Fan

I was looking to add a fan to the roof vent over the bed without spending alot of money. The fan used in the bathroom works good but a fan like that is too Loud for over the bed.
I came up with another solution I installed a Computer Fan "120mm 12cm PC Computer Clear Case Quad 4 LED Light CPU Cooling", they are $4 with free shipping on Ebay, I also had to buy a switch which was another $3. They come in clear with LED lights inside, I have purple light, which is not that bright.

They use very little electric, lightweight, and are super quiet, the holes line up with the holes in the vent frame (you must provide your own screws). My wires were under the cover.

They are nowhere near as powerful as the Bathroom fan in the amount of air that is moved.
Ideally the best Fan for over the bed would be The Fantastic and Maxxfan.
We usually will sleep with the AC on if it is 70 degrees or warmer, so the fan is good enough when we don't use AC on Cooler nights.

how did you run power to it? or is it on a separate solar panel?

power for roof vent

All my vents were prewired, I removed the 4 screws that hold the inside cover on.
Once the cover was removed the wires were there and had power.

just went out and checked. indeed! on my four winds 31e there is non switched power in the vent over the cab. when we bought it i asked about putting a fan there and was quoted $250 just to run wire to that vent! not including the fan r fan install. im glad i found this site!

also checked the kitchen vent and it has the solar wires and a gray/white combo in it with a suspicious yellow tape on it. perhaps this is another circuit form the fuse box.

Vent Wires

Congrats on finding the wires.
I did not check my kitchen vent. Maybe yours go to a wall switch.
My solar wires (10 gauge) were taped in a loop behind my electric panel.

Great idea! I now know what I will do with the computer fans I have had laying around for the past couple of years.

They look as if you could add them almost anywhere; if you want to move some air around!
