Spare Tire carrier for 2012 Hurricane 32A

My buddies and I created a spare tire carrier this last weekend with a winch assembly from a Dodge truck, some 3/4" Black iron pipe and 1/4" plate steel, a grommet for the hole behind the license plate and some welding, grinding and black paint. I had to trim the frame slightly where it transitions / extends beyond the main frame and tucked the tire up between the frame rails. It is a tight fit but now cleanly out of the way and always with me. I welded a 3/8 socket adapter into the original lowering tube so I can stick an extension through the hole to lower the tire. I do need to take out 2 screws to remove the license plate to access the grommeted hole.

That is most excellent. I also fabricated a spare tire carrier for my Axis. Even if I dont use it anytime soon.... it give me a sense of comfort knowing I have it.

Just need to get a flip up license plate holder like this:

I'm glad you had the room to do that on your coach. On newer coaches the gas tank is in that position.

Great idea, we talked about a spring loaded LP holder, but I hadn’t looked yet. Saved me the time. Thanks,
