Securing portable solar panels

We just bought Renogy solar suitcase panel which is portable and will place outside of rig. As we might want to do hike while charging, am concerned about possible theft while gone and wonder if anyone has a system to secure panel to rig?

I also have the Renogy Solar Suitcase (200 watts). I haven't run into that yet, but if we were going to be away for any distance/period of time, I would put it away. I don't see any way to secure the panels. If you come up with something, I'd be interested in hearing about it! I'll watch this thread also.

while it's doubtful ANY type of 'security' for your panels will keep someone determined from taking them, I think you're worried more than you should be. Is it possible? sure, EVERYTHING is possible. Is it probable? no.

this is also why most folks never have to worry, because they are on their roof.

this conversation can be seen across these forums when it concerns satellite portable antennas, bikes, and anything that can possibly be 'stolen'... some of us will worry about it a lot less than some others. Enjoy : )

Could you secure them up on your roof? They might be a bit less noticeable up there.

EDIT: I don't mean to mount them there full-time; just something to hold them up there; when you're not around.

We have used portable panels since 2012 without problems. Never felt the need to secure them. Some folks use a cable and lock system to secure panels.
