Sewer Connection Location

Hello All new to the Forum
Just treaded a C class for the Thor Axis 24.1
Taking it out today for first time,
Being restricted in mobility
The location of the sewer connection on the bottom of the unit
with the unit being lower than most makes connection almost impossible.
I think I see laying on my back to access. Am I seeing this correctly?
Did Thor really do this?

Congratulations and welcome.

In 5 years of camping with our 24.1 I've never had to lay on my back to access the sewer connection. Kneeling on the other hand, happens frequently.

If you're concerned about the slideout being above it just always access the sewer connection with the slide in.

You can go to a garden center and get one of those small pads for your knees if you're concerned about having to kneel. A yoga mat also serves the same purpose although it does take up more storage (but can be useful for other tasks requiring getting on the ground--like hooking up safety chains on a dolly).

Keep in mind the removable access panel below the outlet and the fact that the sewer outlet rotates.

I agree: kneeling is wAY better than laying down in the "line of fire"!
Accessing it with the slide in is also a wise move.
(That's what I do with mine! )

A routine the DW and I have had for years is the connections on the business side before slides go out and slide come in before disconnecting the business side. This normally works out well because she will take the dog for a walk while I am connecting the coach and she returns when I am done. Now some will say she is dodging work but I say I'm getting her out of my hair while I'm busy.

BTW, I have shot knees after too many years in combat boots. I use a pad from Lowes which helps in the kneeling department. I am going to get a second pad to store on the other side of the coach just for the sake of convenience. This is similar to the one I use. The yellow stripes make it easy to locate when it is set down somewhere.

Exclamation

Being among the terrible knee club, I have two of these - - one in the RV and one at home. As a kneeler, the "legs" become handles to assist in getting up. It folds very compactly. Greatest thing since canned beer. Well, not really, but you know what I mean.

You will also find that due to the low level of the connection on the Axis, it can be a bit of a pain if your RV camp spot is not very level, depending on how you have to park. I ended up going with the "Sewer Solution" set up when I had ours. Something to consider.

Having what often feels like at least seven bad knees: I was just going to suggest the exact same thing!
(Too many years of skateboarding injuries...)
