Shower curtain fixed in place!

Minor mod with a big convenience payoff. We have a corner shower with a curtain that has been a constant source of annoyance. We tried a bigger curved curtain rod but still had water escaping because no matter how big the curtain rod is, the usable shower space is still a little snug.

I got inspired by something I found on YouTube - bought a half-inch deep plastic channel that is meant to hide wires along a wall. They’re made in a U shape with a separate piece that snaps into place after the wire has been inserted, and have adhesive backing.

So I stuck the open U channel straight up along one edge of the corner shower wall, where one side of the curtain sits. Then I placed the edge of the plastic curtain liner inside the channel and snapped the channel cover over it. Finished off by putting a bead of silicone down the edge of the plastic channel to help it stay put in the wet environment.

One side of the shower curtain liner is now fixed in place and completely watertight. Looks very neat and tidy. Now there’s just one side of the curtain to manage!

That's a great mod. Now all you need is a 5 or 6 foot long ziplock zipper to attach to the other side. Maybe velcro? Or even small neodymium magnets?

Actually, we are using magnets for the other side. Two narrow, slotted metal rails that you would attach to a wall for hanging shelf brackets. One of them is taped to the opposite shower wall with white duct tape. The other has four magnets sitting on it.

Enter shower, pull curtain liner closed, place it over the taped metal rail and use the second rail with magnets to secure it in place.

Not bad, but you need strong magnets to connect the two metal rails with the liner and the duct tape being in between. Still looking for a better solution.
