In my case the ARC provides about 8" extra room beyond the original curtain.

Well you guys have convinced me the plexiglass enclosure is not a good idea. Guess I'll have to join the ARC commandos and drill holes in those walls.

Ed, looks like a new appendix for your manual.

Be convinced when you know that it actually can't work. I am still learning in that direction.

I would definitely prefer plexiglass over the shower curtain.

I am also looking at removing the bathroom sink to make room for a slightly larger bathroom surround. I am also looking at a class b tip sink.

Gotta think outside the box a bit...if it doesn't work than at least we tried.

Either in a larger shower surround or over the toilet. Either way we can have a very nice sized shower. I absolutely love everything about my Axis...except the bathroom.

Doc-did you get a 46.5 inch long rod- in a 5 foot radius - when you got that part number ? It's really hard to bend to the proper radius - and has a lot of spring back - wondering if it will really work. But the bright side- I got TWO pairs of end brackets and fasteners with the 0340281 part number ( but I did stress I needed them....). I love Thor......😡

Stan,

I will check when I get home tonight. But it does take a little pressure to get the second end seated and in the bracket!

Had a weekend camping trip and the extra shower space was appreciated!

If I remember correctly..Jamie ordered his ARC from Amazon and it was 6' long...he cut it off. Going back several pages in this thread, is all the measurements from our ARC which came with the 2016 Axis...I do believe Jamie left his slightly longer.
I am sure he will reply on your question.

My ARC from Amazon was 60" long. I ended up using a hacksaw to remove about 8". When installed I think mine bows out even further than Doc's. It was pretty hard to get it to bend in an arc around the shower without creasing it (especially when 60" long).

If I had waited a little longer I would have answered my own question...."rod" is bendable - and a measurement was posted from a 2016 at 46 inches. I have it bent, and it is in position.

The Thor part number of the end brackets ( a pair) is 0359687. Not sure if that includes attaching hardware - not in the box, but I got separately. As I said earlier, I received two PAIRS of brackets with my rod - no extra charge....?? Since there is no way to send back ( no paperwork...😨😨 ), I will donate to a forum member who orders the rod and gets NO end brackets ..... Just send me a message with your address - I will include the additional set of fasteners I got...

Can't wait for my first shower...

One heck of a way to run an Army. Kind of like Cracker Jacks, you do not know what prize you get until you open the box!

OFFER TO ALL,

Anyone looking at changing out for THE ARC shower rod please be advise that I now have received two (2) extra sets of the mounting brackets. SO, if you need a set I will send them for the cost of Postage.

Below is a picture showing where the old curtain would hang and THE ARC's Curtain Rod in place. The last two showers have proven, for me, that it makes a difference.

Jamie -- I'll take first dibs on the extra hardware. I'll send you a note with the cash for postage. Did you use the rod from Thor or the Amazon one? Send me a PM or email.

Ed,

I ordered thru Camping World. Others got The ARC Curtain Rod quicker thru other sources. If you are serious on a set of the mounts send me your address (you have my email) and I will mail it to you via USmail. You can just send back whatever they charge on the package.

K -- that was a brain fart on the name. Right it was Doc.

Doc -- sent you an email. Sorry for the name mix up but at my age the mind was the second thing that went.
