LED Strip Connected to Patio Light

I want to connect an LED strip to my existing outdoor patio light. I was wondering if anyone has ever tried soldering a pigtail wire to an 1141 light bulb base? If I solder that pigtail to the 1141 light base then all I have to do is put that base into the light socket and then plug the LED strip into that. No need for transformers, etc.

I would assume I have to solder one wire to the centre of the light base and the other wire to the perimeter shell of the base?

Make sure the voltage required by the LED strip is compatible with 12 VDC and you get the polarity correct. If this is right, your plan should work.

Would work, but my guess is if you remove the fixture you will find wire nuts behind it you could easily tap off of... Then put everything back in place...

I've tapped off multiple interior and storage lights... Expect the patio light would be no different.
