Solar Ready?

I found a small white box with connectors on the roof of my 2018 Hurricane (pic attached), which I have since identified as a Solar Ready Cable Box (Gland Box). Does this mean my RV is solar ready and all I have to do it is have some solar panels installed and it is already wired? I do not see inside the RV where this is any type of solar monitor panel, so I am a little confused.

If you don't have a solar charge controller inside, then I'd say no.. you are not solar ready. Sounds like it's half-arse ready, if you're lucky the wires are in a location where you could install a solar controller.

Good news is.. NOT having a solar controller means you can buy and install a quality controller.. often RV manufacturers put in the bottom of the line equipment.

Look behind cabinets and drawers near the batteries for a pair of wires, typically #10 gauge, coiled up waiting for you to connect a solar controller.

Thor has built coaches with three options....

1. Solar Pre-Wired: There is an MC4 Cable Gland Box on the roof and 10 gauge wires have been run inside the coach unterminated ends that can be connected to a customer supplied Solar Controller.

2. Solar Ready: There is an MC4 Cable Gland Box on the roof and 10 gauge wires have been run inside the coach to a Solar Controller.

3. Full Solar: There is a 100W panel on the roof along with the Solar Controller in the RV.

The picture you supplied looks like a regular IP68 cable gland that can be used for general wiring or solar. But Thor is known for throwing curve balls but it odd they would install that for a Pre-Wired or Solar Ready prepped coach.

The MC4 solar junction box Thor typically provides looks like this.....
