I never carried a spare with my class A because there was no really good way to do it and the likelihood of needing it was slight. I did carry a plug kit and pump. Now that I have a class B I have elected to carry a spare because it’s easy to do (mounted on a rear door), not very expensive and the fact that even lightly loaded the van and it’s tires are very close to their rated weight limits.

I have Good Sam through 2026 “free” from past RV purchases at CW. But I don’t have great expectations for them based on what I’ve read. If I need them I’ll call and at least I’ll have a comfortable place to wait. If I need to make my own arrangements at least I have a cell phone. There’s no guarantees for any of it!

AAA roadside assistance states they will change a flat with a spare you provide. What happens if you don't carry a spare? Does anyone know what they charge? My Good Sam Roadside is up for renewal and I am trying to determine who to use.

Switched to Coach-Net, AAA if you don't have spare they can't help you, Good Sam for me was not reliable/timely.

Coach net seems a bit more expensive but based on a few comments it may be worth it.

I wouldn’t travel with an empty tote tank mounted from the ladder either, preferring instead to use a bumper-mount carrier.
