New York and Washington

We are 3/4s of the way across Canada and when done will starting heading down the east coast of the US (we are from Canada).
Just wondering if anyone has any tips on best places to park just outside New York, Boston and Washington DC so as to have easy access to the city. We have a motorcycle on the back but would prefer train or underground.
Thanks for any insights.
BTW the 2016 Vegas 24.1 has been perfect so far on this trip.

The answer in DC would more than likely be Cherry Hill RV Park just north of College Park, MD. Convenient to Metro and they also have planned tours with shuttles from the campground. Nice campground too.

Yeah the best campground for DC is https://www.cherryhillpark.com/ .

Not sure about NYC--ask me again in a couple of weeks as we'll be at https://www.libertyharborrv.com/ for a couple of weekends (note that this one is basically a parking lot with hookups and everyone is crammed together).

In NYC, there is only one place that I know of. I’ve never been there but it is on my list and the reviews have been ok. Supposedly a ferry to NYC.

I enjoy finding campgrounds by using the map feature on www.CampgroundReviews.com. Just zoom into the location you are search.

Campground Reviews is a sister site to this forum so your same email/password combo allows you to login. Then you can add campgrounds to your favorite lists (helps to keep organized).

www.RVTripWizard.com uses the same Campground Reviews database but has even more power and functionality (but it’s not free). It’s great for long trips though!

Have a wonder trip!

Well I'm sitting in Liberty Harbor RV park as I type this.

A few things to note:
  • Follow the campgrounds directions to get here on their website otherwise you'll find yourself in some tight spots in an urban area (of course)
  • The road immediately outside the park is quite bumpy (with a few elevated sewer grates)--tread slowly (and some construction)
  • It is exactly what you think: You're camping on blacktop so your A/C will be working overtime
  • Only water and electric "sites" (using "site" loosely here as they are just parking spots) so plan accordingly (there is a dump station on premises)
  • The bar/restaurant here is the local hotspot! Very busy with a band on a Saturday Night--pretty decent food, however

Strangely enough there is a Vegas 25.3 across the road from us here.
