We found the sound from the TV was very low last fall when we were watching a movie with the furnace and space heaters on so I installed this VizioClick image for larger version

I should have used a sound bar. Too late I used a six foot cable, RCA adapter to a 3.5MM and used my Jensen 210 radio. found a remote on e bay, then purschased a pair of Pioneer 6X9 speakers. Now the sound is excellent.

Huh, actually I wish I had to do it your way! lol Cheaper and would have loved to use the using existing speakers that are directly over the couch. The TV was on the opposite side however in the slide and wiring was to be a pain!

We actually have to turn the sound off of the TV or we will get a echoe effect. the front speakers are still factory.

Hi There,

We also have a ACE 30.1. Where did you mount the sound bar?

Thanks!
Dave Harvey

Did you plug this cable into the AUX. on the radio? If so, didn't the sound from the TV then come through all the ceiling speakers? Why did you also plug into the Pioneer speakers? Where did you connect those?

Thanks!
Dave Harvey

I mounted it vertically on the cork board next to the TV. I ran the wires into the closet then to the cupboard behind the TV.

hmmm, interesting idea.
My TV functions as a door to a cabinet. The speakers being behind the TV, probably sound really good in the cabinet, but not so much at the sofa.
I've been pondering on how to deflect the sound out the space under the tv, but an external speaker might be a better solution for me to ruminate!
Thanks for the idea!

i assume most of these soundbars are amplified, requiring an 120VAC power feed. Correct?

Yes soundbars need 110 outlet. Also for a few bucks more you can get a sound bar with a wireless sub woofer, that will really give you the theater sound

Here is the update I did. Wireless bluetooth headphones receive signal from bose transmitter and a bose sound bar on our 30.1.
