Step Ladder Storage
I searched using those keywords and found nothing. I have a 6ft step ladder I would like to hang on the RV roof access ladder only haven't gotten close enough to someone else's solution to 'take notes'.
The top rung (aka last step) of the ladder needs 7" of hanger. It's 14" to the back wall of the RV. Here's the kicker: I want to use the existing ladder structure to perform the task - no new holes, and definitely no holes in the back outside wall of the RV. No solution that includes that remedy is worth the trouble it could cause (leaks). The solution has to use either the existing mount points for the roof ladder (w/longer screws?) or the roof ladder rails and/or steps to solve.
Any ideas/solutions?

I have seen this discussed a number of times in this (and similar) forum.
Strong agreement is NOT to attach anything to your rigs ladder. They are not attached sufficiently to absorbed the vibration of an attached ladder (or others heavy item).
I carry an collapsible extension ladder that I store under the bed.
You might want to consider a bike rack connected on your hitch with your ladder attached.

Makes sense. Thanks for the insight. My toad's a pick up. I'll come up with something else.

We have a collapsible aluminum 6' ladder that folds to 3.5" x 3.5" that fits perfectly and snugly into the rear bumper (where some carry their sewer hose). Bought it at CW.

That's a good spot for it: let your Toad take care of storing it for you.

I carry a GP Logistics folding 6ft step ladder. I find a step ladder to be more useful than a straight ladder especially for tasks like cleaning the windshield. It fits nicely in any storage compartment that extends all the way across your basement and takes up very little space. It’s very sturdy.

Getting a lot of 404s with links posted in responses. Not sure why that is except the forum tries to preamble the external page with a warning and that seems to be failing.

Those folding ladders look like a better option than the telescoping one I bought. Would be nice to have the 7' one.

I have had bikes, chairs and ladders hanging off the back or my last three coaches. Never lost anything and the ladder has never come loose from the back. I used this one on my first and second coach. https://www.amazon.com/Ladder-Mount-...7150025&sr=8-4 and this one on my current coach https://www.amazon.com/Camco-Support...7150025&sr=8-1. 20 years of travel and no problems.

Yeah... our rear slide makes a rear ladder impossible.

Over the Ladder Chair and Bike Rack
I've used an over-the-ladder chair and bike rack that you can pickup at Camping World or from Amazon. You can use bungee cords to keep the ladder in place while traveling and a locking cable to keep it secure.

Carried a six foot ladder in pass through storage for over 5 years and never used it. I use my drone for checking the roof and have the dealer do a good inspection when the safety inspection is done. The ladder now sits in the storage shed.

I have a ladder to get to the roof. The other is for washing and waxing the rig.
I know, I know. You pay someone...
