Storage bay warmer
I am installing a water filter / softener system in one of my storage bays. I am looking for ideas for keeping the storage bay warm in freezing weather. The storage bay does have extra insulation, but it is not heated. Could a tank heater to keep the bay warm? Is there some other 12v solution? I know I could just put a 100 watt lightbulb to keep things warm. I am looking for a solution that does not require 110v power.

Why don't you put it in your heated wet bay? I put both a 2.5 gallon surge tank as well as a water filter in my ACE's wet bay. There's a lot of unused room in there.

Some even fit elbows.
They strap easily to batteries.
Lots of uses.
I also have this(but mine is the self contained portable version)
https://www.amazon.com/TUOKE-Heaters...NsaWNrPXRydWU=
It lives in my shop as it wasn't needed to supplement the RV heat.
It uses as much battery power as my 24.1 propane/floor heater.
If you own a diesel RV, two of these is a must to have.

My wet bay has about enough room for a shoe box. There is not even enough room between the door and the tanks to fit the filters let alone the softener. The gray and black tank deep ends take up the top half of the bay and come within about 6" of the door. I maybe could fit the filters under the gray tank if I lay then flat and remove the outside shower, but then I could only have a two-filter set. That would also make changing the filter elements very difficult. I think Thor sacrificed wet bay space to make the "trunk' larger.
I am installing the filters and the softener inside the large trunk space under the bedroom slide on the left rear of the coach. Which is next to the wet bay. I am also installing a second city connection in the bay on the bulkhead between the bays. Since all the water connections run through the wet bay all I will need is about 12" of PEX a "T" and elbow connectors to hook it in. The city hose will be run into the bay through a 4" marine inspection port. installing the filters will not even take up usable space since they can be hung near the top of the bay.

I was considering the stick-on kind however, I am worried that just sticking them somewhere in the bay near the filter and softener might result in the mats failing because they are not attached directly to a tank to act like a heat sync. I suppose I could put one on the softener, but I do not think I could directly attach a mat or mats to the filters. I get that the mats would not be as effective as one attached to the bottom of a tank. Would a mat set near the filters keep the space warm enough to prevent freezing? How many mats would I need to keep a large bay warm enough?
