Cell Booster - June 2021 Info Needed
Hi folks
new guy
yes did use the search ;-)
not much current info
Goal:
Hit road w/ my 7 yo in my Majestic 19g in August
Need to run my business with best available Cell Reception/Wifi
Contenders
WeBoost Drive Reach Extreme Omni antenna
WeBoost Connect RV with 25 foot directional
I don't want the extra set up of the 25 foot pole, but will sacrifice for reception so we can bushwack
I know a little and a 25 foot pole should out perform a 3 food Omni
but maybe i am wrong on the possible gain
I also understand the 25 footer will have to be "aimed"
I am ok with that 'cuz when we park, we are staying put for 1-5 days
Your help would be appreciated
First Hand experience or suggestions or links
Thank you in advance

Personally I prefer Pepwave. I have a Max Mini LTE-A which works perfectly. It has two SIM slots which allow to to use the best data stream. The external antenna is a Proxicast mounted on the rear ladder which I seldom use. Generally the Max's attached antennas are good enough to watch 4K (20Mbps with H265 encoding) on ATT.

If your going to use a booster on a pole I would suggest you look at the flagpole buddy. It attaches to the rear ladder of a motorhome and allows for very easy and quick setup of your pole. We use it all the time for our external TV antennae. As to a recommendation I use Verizon as a cell provider and have had no need for a cell booster.

Proxicast ANT-126. We camp in Forest Service sites in TX, NM and CO as well as COE spots.
The lower frequencies follow the nap of the earth better. Use them if your modem allows this function. I really would like to try T-Mobile's band n71 (600 mhz) but what I have won't work on that frequency.

Potter's Creek Is our closest (near Spring Branch, TX), Silver Thread near Creed, CO is great but no cell service. CO-148 is not suitable for long vehicles in this area. RV Parky has a listing for all in each state.

I have the Weboost Drive with an omni-directional antenna. It works well. The only drawback is the device you're using that requires a cell signal must be within 1-3 feet from the indoor antenna. Beyond that it doesn't really work. I didn't know this initially when I had it installed. I tested the signal strength using the settings on my phone and after about 3 feet the "boost" drops off dramatically to the point of almost no boost at all. I think they make an indoor antenna that transmits further than the normal antenna that comes with the unit.

They say this close range of the indoor antenna requirement in the manual that is available before purchasing.
I place the indoor antenna next to my cellular modem receive antenna. Done.
