Bag in Slide

I opened the seat in my bunk area to see what was in there. Thor screwed it closed. There are some wires and a black bag that velcros closed, is attached to the floor of the slide and is open to the exterior. Seems like it really isn't doing anything. If it isn't I would like to remove it and close the opening in the slide. What is it for?

The bag is to allow the slide to move around electrical and / or plumbing. Many times there is electrical or plumbing connections that are stationary and the slide has to move around them. The allows the slide to move around those connections while providing a minimal barrier to the outside elements when the slide is open

If you try to remove the bag and close the opening, the slide will not be able to move around those electrical wires and you will cause some damage to the slide, the electrical or both.

Thanks. There are a few wires that go through the slide floor and are contained by some wood in small portion of the bag. I will leave it alone. Although I will build a platform over the entire are so we can gain some storage space.
