chf is a mod....search the internet for rv and chf...you'll find tons. It works to some extent. I had an ACE that it helped but it won't do miracles. Also, the knock is it's too much torque and may cause damage down the line. WHo knows. Roadmaster or similar, sway bars and new shocks will definitely help but it's expensive. Had this done to a Hurricane and the handling was day and night to the ACE. Also, pay attention to tire pressures.

The chf has been done for years on thousands of f53 chassis with no reported problems or damage

I have followed the chf thread on irv2 for a long time. If anyone got damage it would have been reported there

And one of our members asked Ford about it and was told it is an “owner selectable” feature. I still have not heard anyone say they did the CHF and later replaced the bars with aftermarket to good effect. Try the cheap way first.

I think my track bar is a roadmaster but you have others that do the job. I went online and did a search.

They are all basically the same. They only differ by mh weight class. You need the proper track bar for your mh weight

I went with Ultra from Brazzles

I used a UltraTrack from Brazels RV Performance. The model number is: UTF53V8R - Rear UltraTrac Trac Bar Ford F53 14-18K GVW Chassis. It fit perfectly with no modifications. You do need an impact wrench or very long breaker bar as the big nuts need to be torqued to 325 ftlbs.

And a deep socket 1-1/8 helps also

Just ordered the Sumo Springs for the rear, I installed the front ones 3 years ago. Seems to be more advantageous than air springs.

Rear Sway Bar for F53 Chasis

If anyone needs a rear sway bar for a F53 chassis where the lower shock mount is parallel to the ground, drop me a line. I ordered the wrong one and it is in my workshop not being used.

Found the Right Alignment Shop...

New ACE 29.3 and after maiden voyage realized the ill handling that everyone is talking about. Like to compare the handling to a shopping cart full of frozen turkeys but it may not handle that good. Got a recommendation for an alignment shop here in Temecula. I had already purchased the steering stabilizer, however wanted to get the alignment straightened up first. When I dropped off the coach the owner of the shop and I started talking about the poor handling and he suggested the steering stabilizer and then the CHF. This was my kind of alignment shop. I already had the Safe-T-Ride and as long as I was already there, he would install it for $150. Not that the install is that difficult he said, it's all the post install adjustment necessary. . For an additional $50 he would do the CHF front and rear. Nice running into that kind of shop. I'll drive and post my thoughts. Robert

That is great to find a shop like that. Yes I am super curious how much of a difference those little changes made.

I went with Precision Alignment in Temecula for my E450
They are very knowledgeable abt RVs & fair on price.
I have Helwig Anti-Sways and SUMO’s on Front & Rear. Plus a Bilstein steering damper.
It now drives like a full sized Chevy/Ford SUV.

I nearly got blown off a tight construction zone on Day #2 of ownership.

I did some searches & came across Half Price (Jerry) & he schooled me up.

I did 2 suspension mods:
1) CHF -$0 & 2) Ultra Trac Rear Trac bar -$489.

10,000 miles later, the wife and dog are very happy. It's been mostly a one hand driving experience from PA to Maine to Florida & many trips in between.

We've driven through tropical rain, sleet & snow.

The RV has handled pretty well through it all.

The only time I need 2 hands on the wheel is bad weather and when there are heavy crosswinds, but I'm not sure there is a good fix for that. I just slow down & steer through it.

I've got an "epic" western trip of 6,000 miles coming up in Sept. so I'll likely hit more of those cross winds heading out that way, but I feel like I'm ready for it.

Not quite that far on this trip. Montana, Wyoming, Utah is the Westernmost path.

We will catch up one of these days though, I owe you a lunch!

I'm most likely doing that trip next year. Yellowstone, Mt Rushmore and all sites in between
