Tankless water heater swap

Has anyone removed their tankless water heater and installed a 6 gallon tank heater? What was the process. Thor vegas 25.2.

Several have asked: no one has shown it accomplished to my recollection.

It was accomplished.
The guy wanted $200 over retail for his replaced unit and he never gave a valid reason as to why, other than want, he did it. I think I remember he was $3500 into it and had a whopping 6 gallons of hot water.
He saved 18oz of water(supposedly) during start up.

Not an axis but it was a Thor and the same heater

Research it and dig in. Tankless won't work for us the way we boondock. If I always had full hookups and/or water recirculation - sure. But there's no value for us.

If you're mechanically inclined and up to the challenge, go for it! Come back and post pics and updates!

The tankless water heater used by thor is often the lowest quality made. The one we had in the omni was bottom line and pond sucking quality. There very likely may be no room to put a tank type in so my first suggestion would be to upgrade the tankless type. Get a better quality and performing model. The Girard thor used in the omni requires a high pressure and flow rate and many RV parks don't have enough pressure to make it work properly. Me, I prefer the tank type for it's simplicity and reliability. The Girard was just one of the things I grew to hate about the omni.

Use your pump to negate any park variables.
IT THEN WORKS FLAWLWSSLY.

Chunker21 did you replace yours or did you get a different rv with the tank type. Yes there is not a lot of room in my vegas 25.2 so more research for sure.

My tankless takes exactly 18oz to get hot.
Pour it in the toilet for the next flush.

The wasted water reason has been debunked many times.

Duckface, mine takes 35 seconds and 80 oz. Before it gets comfortably warm set at 112 degrees.

Fair enough
But
If you put that 80oz in the toilet for a flush, you have enough to flush.

Just a thought.

Our house takes 3 gallons to heat up.
We use a bucket.
Deer and elk get the advantage of daily water.
(I unplugged that stupid recirc pump)

heres the real shocker,... and more on the wasted water and filling the gray tank sooner....don't ever take a winter shower military style, you can't get wet soap up then turn the shower back on, you have to leave it running once you turn it on.....guess how I found that out....

Vegasruv24.1, i am with you 100 percent. I like hard wired switches and push buttons. I can fix them all . I can manage the tankless heater when full hook up but dry camping makes it hard to manage fresh water and holding tanks when you dump so much down the drain waiting for warm water.

Put water in toilet or in bucket.
Zero waste.

And even with close to 80 Alexa devices in the house and RV, I sure didn't want that wonky first gen electronic switch stuff from Thor.
2018 Was last of the
Solid switch axis.

I dumped the omni and got the Renegade Valencia in my sig line. The water heater was perhaps open of the smaller reasons for hating the omni. If curious, search out past posts I made. Interesting reading.

Putting water in the toilet is jus as much of a waste. You don't need more water than what covers the seal and the fresh water is gonna flush when you hit the pedal to dump the contents anyway - so you haven't saved a thing.

Water in a bucket? To do what with? Pour it back into the FW tank? These are RECREATIONAL VEHICLES - ain't nobody got time for that - too much work for relaxing.
