Thor 28Z Electric Access
This is our electric access for our 28Z. Anyone drill a hole in the plastic to feed the electric cord out of the bottom instead of leaving the access door open?

You could cut a round hole in the bottom and install screw type fixture to close when not in use. I'll see if I can find a pic.

That's about what I was thinking.
Found it on Amazon.
That will be next weekends project along with replacing a couple of electric outlets with USB outlets.
Thanks.

We have a similar door on our 28A, but it is just a storage compartment. Our SP cable connects to the outside. Is yours connected inside?

Used a hole saw to cut out the opening and a Dremel to do the final trimming.
Tomorrow, I'll epoxy it in.

are you sure there's not one in there already.
Mine has it from the factory.... I just assumed most did! mine is on the back side of the box opening towards the bumper (not in the door)
My door's hinge is at the top though, so for short trips I'll usually just let the door drop loosely down onto the cord rather than feeding it through the port

Thats strange. I have a Freedom Elite 28H. Exact same floor plan as the 28Z. We have a round screw on cap inside the compartment that is taken off so the electric cord can go through the hole and then the door is shut. When your traveling that same screw on cap is put back on so the cord does not fall through the hole.

Good Afternoon
We have a 2018 Z28 and the power cord compartment has a circular section that can be unscrewed for this purpose.
Plus, our door for this compartment is hinged from the top.

I guess in 2019 they did away with it inside the door and went with this.

I too have a Thor fourwinds 28z 2018. As others have said it has a screw lid in the center of the floor of that compartment.

Ours has an access port now. Took about a 1/2 hour with a holesaw and rotary tool to carve out the hole. I used epoxy to glue it into place then sealed it. One thing I did notice was a moisture build up on the hinge of the access door when it was handing open.

That looks great but do you have something to seal it closed when not in use? I’d be worried that the cord would dangle out and get ruined while driving. And also that water would enter when driving in rain or snow then causing damage elsewhere.

Look at the post above made by BLW2. That is what I installed, it has screw in lid.
