Thor ACE 27.1 Forward Fan Installation

I added a fan to the forward vent on our 27.1 ACE. I was concerned I would have to pull power from a nearby light but I was surprised to find the vent was pre-wired for a fan so installing the after-market fan was a lot easier than I had expected. "Tampering with the rooftop seal is not necessary."
I used a Heng's Industries Vortex II upgrade kit, which has three forward and two reverse speeds. All I had to do was remove the crank knob and then the screen. Then i installed the new fan after connecting the fan wires to those hidden provided wires of the ACE coach.

What did you do to uncover the wiring? I'd guess that it's between the roof and the headliner. I'm going to try installing a Fantastic fan vent which will require breaking the roof seal and removing the factory vent.

Usually, all you need to do is remove the shroud from around the vent opening, from inside the RV. If wiring is available you will see it with the shroud removed.

The wiring is just tucked up in the vent cavity. Once you start removing the old vent you will see it. No digging required.
