I had an alarm installed on the Tuscany we had. I went to a stereo shop that installs alarms. The shop installed a door switch, baggage door switches, generator access, and engine bay access. The alarm was not hooked to the ignition. We had a keyless remote that just enabled or disabled the system. Never had problems, not sure if it was worth the expense, but would probably do it again. If you go that route make sure the shop has a big enough place to park while they're doing the install.

Because of the number of doors to add switches to it was about $1000. If you just put switches on entry door and or a couple of others it should be a lot less. Also depends on what brand system you use. Since the system is not wired to anything except switches you can go with a less expensive brand and save money. Wiring up all those switches took quite a while so a lot of the cost was labor.

Alarm

Check out RV Command. I am thinking of installing this system on my coach for peace of mind when it is in storage.

Alarm

Geico and other companies recognize the value of an automatic alarm for RV and home.
We had received a 10% discount.
