Add on Gutter to Hurricane!
I can not believe my Hurricane did not have a gutter built in! The A/C water runs down the sides and the black streaks are terrible. My old class C Sunseeker had a gutter!
Anyone add on a gutter system to a class A motorhome?

My challenger dosn't have rain gutters either. Would think Thor would have done something.

Great idea

Have you tried it? If so, how well does it work? We have the same problem with our challenger, and it seems like a great idea. I did find out a good wax job cuts down on the streaking, so we get our waxed 2-3 times a year.
if it works

I have not tried it yet! It is waiting in my Amazon cart to order. It is a little expensive and received great reviews on Amazon's site, but I wanted to see if anyone on here has used it yet. I value opinions and reviews on here!

I had a problem with some leakage on storage doors on a previous 5th wheel. Bought this locally. Easy to put on and it really did the trick. The adhesive was strong and I'm not sure I could have removed it if I had wanted to so make sure you get it in the right spot the first try.

I've looked at that gutter material in the store, but haven't tried it yet.
I think I remember a post by FW28Z a while back that he used it on a boat once. (haven't seen him posting here in a while though)
Regardless, my 2 cents - It looks like it could be a bit tricky to get straight over a long run with nothing to guide it against, but I think it'll work great....
Except on my coach, there is so much of the roof line interrupted with the awning attachments (slides and porch awnings). The way its made I don't see a way to get an uninterrupted run down the sides.... So I was thinking of putting it over my rear clearance lights and another couple short pieces inverted over the tail lights, to deflect water from these leaky poorly designed fixtures. Not so sure about the sides of my coach....

I used a pencil to draw a straight line across two access doors. Went approximately 10'. Without the line it would definitely be a real pain to keep it straight. With the line it was no problem. Attached photo only shows a small portion. I thought I had a photo of both doors but could not find it. And since I no longer have the 5th wheel I can't run out and take one.

I have seen pics online of people attaching it to their roof at the edge of the roof to direct the water along the roof to front or back ends! That ways heavy rains an d A/C water will be diverted from the sides all together!

I just ran across this thread. I used Trim-Lok DRB-25 from Amazon with some rain gutter down spouts by Camco.
My rig, 2014 Hurricane 32A. I placed a strip along the drivers side to the rear of the slide-out, one above both the drivers side window and passenger side window. Also place one short (about 6") piece between the end of the awning and the awning support with a stubby down spout. The water and dirt that is caught by the awning seems to create a big drip line down the side in this area.

Has anyone tried adding a drip rail to a Vegas or Axis? The driver side should be no problem but the awning side looks like a real challenge.

We just purchased a Thor Hurricane 35C. Where is the low point drain for the fresh water tank?

The valve is under the bed and ours drains directly down over the gas tank.

2015 Hurricane 27K Gutter System
Is anyone aware of a gutter material that will slide into the channel in the photo? I have this channel that runs the entire length of my RV at the roof line. It appears to be the same type channel they use to fasten some awnings to the top of RV's. I am searching for ideas to stop water from running down the side of the coach, but I am not really excited about using anything that uses double sided tape that will eventually harden and become difficult to remove.
Many thanks and safe travels.
Bruce

That isn't a bad idea. I may cut some PVC samples and see how it fits and looks. Thanks for the video!
