If something failed in my engine the manufacturer could void any warranty due to the use of unrecommended fuel.

Diesel is ignited by the compression of the fuel.
No problem.

Read the owners manual and use the recommended fuel which will probably be Ultra Low Sulfur diesel. Most stations offering diesel do not offer different cetane rated fuels so you are limited to what they offer.

Interesting, I have the same engine - in a 2016 Outlaw 37RB. If I run 87 fuel the warning light goes on and the code specifies "Too Many Ignition Misfires" after a few hundred miles. If I run 89 or higher, that doesn't happen.

On your diesel, if the temps are below 32 you might add a diesel additive to keep the diesel fuel from gelling. Most gas stations have the additive available. Pour it into the tank and then fuel up so it gets a chance to mix in the tank.

Hi Paul,
What if you're on the road, and encounter freezing conditions.
What are the early symptoms of your fuel starting to gel?
