thor vegas 24.1 2018 DC220-6 Fullriver 6V 220Ah GRP 27 Sealed Lead Acid AGM Battery

Upgraded my thor vegas 24.1 2018 to the new DC220-6 Fullriver 6V 220Ah GRP 27 Sealed Lead Acid AGM Battery SKU: DC220-6. They were very heavy and difficult to install but it worked out well. I did some testing on them with the 2000W inverter over night and the batteries worked well. Some pics below:

Shore power
13.57 at battery and inverter
13.66 at converter

Battery only after shore power turned off
12.72 at battery

1 hr of tv
12.43 at battery

Morning after leaving tv and fan and converter on
12.25 at battery (~50% discharge)

Also- make sure to torque down the bolts appropriately. I put some electrical tape over the bolt terminals as well as a just in case precaution against metal tool contact.

220 Amp-hours at 12 VDC as the batteries are in series.

So he upgraded to half the amps two 220amp 12v batteries are?
I get lost on the 6v vs 12v stuff.
Are my stock two 24series 12v batteries less than 110amps each?

Its about usable capacity. I previously had Deka Marine Master batteries 12V regular lead-acid rated at 130 A-hr. However, i could only get about 50% of the capacity out of the batteries. The new AGM batteries are useful up to ~80% of their capacity.

I went 6V also because the wiring was cleaner. Some people avoid 6V because if one of the batteries fails (i.e. inernal open circuit), then you are out of luck as you will have no voltage. If your batteries are wired in parallel, then you still have 12V, just half the capacity.

Best price I could find is $295 each...But you have to order 6 to get the discount.
However, free shipping. So you got that going for you...which is nice.

Please keep us posted on your results.

Thats awesome..... I have the Same Exact batteries in my Axis. I did a write up about them two years ago and they are still going strong.

I guess was lucky to find them around $250 each (in 2018) but when I checked out (local Battery Depo or Battery Plus - not sure which one) they gave me around 10% / 12% off at check out just for asking.

Yep they are heavy. I scaled mine in at 73# each (OEM was 46# each). Just barely fit under my steps with zero mods and just enough clearance with step door closed (1/2 inch?) - no tape needed for my application.
