Bedroom Radio

My second update to the radios was to replace the Jensen in the bedroom with the Pioneer MVHX560BT. The main reason was the ability to change the display and key colors. I hate the blue LED display on the Jensen. The room is bright as day at night. I would have to shove a pillow against the face to get a dark room. As any sailor knows, red light does not "brighten" the room or mess with night vision. The Pioneer allowed me to change the display/key color to red. There also is a USB attachment so that I can play tunes off of my iPhone. The chord has both a USB and an Aux-in plug. The shiny thing in the open space is a BT mike.


In the reflection, the keys and volume knob look silver. Trust me, they are red.


One word of warning. If you want to change the bedroom radio, there is only 4" in the back. The Jensen and the Pioneer are the only radios made for that limited depth. I even chatted with Crutchfield about this.

The Jensen does leave something to be desired...however, in the menu..there is a backlight adjustment...a person can turn the screen light to 0 (zero) if so desired.

Yes, I tried that. But, if I set it to 0, then I can't see the display to change sources or other functions without setting it back to at least 1. And the blue LED display at 1 was still annoying. {Your milage may vary).
