2016 Thor Vegas 24.1 Stabilizers Question

Hi all,
I am looking for anyone who has installed stabilizer scissor jacks on a Vegas 24.1. I ordered them and went to install and made the mistake of only having measured the passenger side rear for fitting. Right side is fine, but because of where the generator is located (back rear left) I cannot install on the frame at the back left. Wondering what others have done to get around this. Looking for a solution.
Thanks for any help.
Cheers
Carle

I also put some on the front but not in a very good place (Behind the front bumper--they don't offer much stability there as the crumple zone in the frame flexes when I tighten up the jack).

Side Mount

Thanks for the response. I am trying to figure out how to mount them so access is from the side, due to the fact I have a 3 foot motorcycle rack on the back. May just have to do what you have done and have some sort of extension as a side mount doesn't seem to work because of the generator.

Scissor Jacks Solution

So a friend recommended a solution for mounting the scissor jacks. After removing the hitch, we extended the hitch bar on each side by 12", welding on the same steel tubing. We replaced the right angle mounting plates on the jacks, with flat steel that was welded to the extension pieces. 2 holes in each of the plates allowed them to be attached to the jacks.

The jack access for extending is about 6" in from each side of the motorhome. When wound up they sit above the skid bars so no chance of dragging. Work perfectly. I have attached a picture. Sorry, photo is turned and not sure how to right it.
