Tire Pressure Monitoring unit causing vibration?

I recently purchased a 2018 Four Winds 24HL and took it for a test run a couple of weeks ago. It was butter smooth on the road, however today we headed out again and I had a slight but noticeable shimmy in the steering wheel. The only thing that has changed since the last trip is that I installed tire pressure monitoring gizmos on the front tires.

In order to get them on I had to add an angled valve stem extension through the hubcap, so the pressure monitoring units are hanging about an inch outside the hubcap.

Could these small devices be the cause of the new shimmy?

Thanks for your help!

Between the valve stem extensions and the TPMS sensors it could throw off the tire/wheel balance which could cause vibration or a shimmy

Doubtful.

I agree, you just added extra weight to the wheels so it could throw the balance off.

Look at it this way; how much will it cost to have those wheels re-balanced?
For peace of mind: have it done!

I just added Eez Tire TPMS to my Axis (E450 with 16 inch ford rims). No issues (yet) but I removed the anti theft covers which made mine much smaller (lighter) so the front they fit with no extention. The OEM had a like a one inch 15 / 20 degree angle on it. I had to slightly bend it to clear the wheel cover 100%.

I removed the angle valve stem extensions on the front wheels. They were a continued source of a leak. It takes 30 seconds to remove the wheel cover on the front wheels to work with the TPMS sensors.
As for the sensors causing a vibration? Itís not likely. But remove the extensions and put the sensors back on. Closer to the wheel instead of sticking out might remove the vibration.
