Vegas door window

Has anyone tried to change the Vegas door window to be transparent? I think it would be nice while backing up at times. Mine is tinted glass on the outside, but looks like textured plastic on the inside. Anyone know for sure?

It would be nice if the plastic could be removed.

If anyone is interested, the Vegas door window is glass... not plastic on the inside. I found a glass company that will replace it with matching transparent glass ($300).

Did you ever run across something that gives hints of how those assemble? Is the frosted glass part attached to the external frameless glass or is it a separate panel? I've tapped on mine and it feels separate but I sure hate to pull the back frame just to find out it's not.

I can let you know in three weeks when the specially sized tempered window comes in. The 'glass guy' thought the existing window was one piece- textured on the inside- tinted on the outside. I can't be sure until we take it apart.

I also noticed that the window was installed on an angle... it was ⅜" out of parallel to the edge of the door. Thankfully, they didn't put the window in with silicone... I was able to loosen the frame and twist it into alignment easily.

vegas door glass

The frosted part is indeed a separate glass and is tempered. I removed mine by using a punch and hammer. Tapping on the extreme edge until the glass shattered. Removed pieces and used black sealer around edge.
Since it was just cosmetic i had no need to replace it.
