Question Want to replace my Captains Chairs...

The Chairs in my 2015 Thor 27' Windsport are miserable, bought the unit used and didn't drive it far during the review drive. Went to slow down for traffic and the Wife almost slid out from under her seat-belt. They don't have a lot of use, but are slick AND uncomfortable with no support! Other than that, they are great!

We are in central Kalifornia, about 50 miles east of Bakersfield. I'd like to buy new (quality) chairs (and have installed) by someone other than Camping World. Does anyone know of (experienced personally) a quality "Captains Chair" company we can use within a days ride?

Appreciate the help!

Craig

I'm looking also on our challenger 37gt. Try brandhall has a nice selection.

We don't know if you're nine feet tall or four feet wide.
A seat that fits me does not fit my wife and vice versa.
In the thread in my signature is a link to inflatable little seat cushions that allow you to customize any seat to add support where you need it.
I think the post is on about page five.

We were about to buy super duper high priced seats from a wrecked Lincoln.
$21 worth of these cushions saved me(for now) $6,500.

The Thor seats are now perfectly acceptable for us, but again you don't know if I'm nine feet tall or four feet wide.

there is no reason we cant have the 32 position seats from a lincoln. man they are comfy

i agree our flexsteel seats are horrible after 4 hours , even when we had new skins put on we had the extra foam added, still suck

I have a 2018 Miramar 35.3...the captain's chairs are the worst thing ever!! I would have thought that any motorhome would have the most comfortable captain's chairs of anything on the road??? not so with mine. I have sat in a 2019 Miramar...the seats are much better, I wonder if the 2019 seats will fit/work/color match in a 2018?

Both my wife and I had the same complaint about slippery seats.

I added a thin spray-on application of Glove Glu (Amazon) to the seat cushion, spreading it with a rag. After it dried, I wiped it lightly. It adds just enough tack to the seat to prevent sliding. It's a cheap, easy, invisible fix for part of your problems.

Hi Craig My name is Michelle Fortune I live in Boston and used to live in Ironwood Michigan. I have a Thor RV that I am interested in buying and it has a terrible chair in the drivers seat and I was looking for new ones myself. What if a car/truck company with the same engine as you have in your RV might sell aftermarket or genuine chairs? June 24 2023

Craig posted twice 2 1/2 years ago and needed no further help and offered no solution.

Chairs are not manufacturer specific except b/c class low-line factory cabs, and then 900 of 1,000 choices will still fit.
Anything from a milk crate to a Duckdo will fit.

Buy what you want with no concern as to rv model.
Anyone who advertises themselves as handyman or mechanic can install them.

I can't be any amount of specific based on your input.
