What gauge AWG for 12v ports

I’m thinking about adding a few 12v USB charging ports throughout the RV. I’ll be connecting them to local lights etc... as the power source. What gauge wire should I use? I’m thinking 18AWG copper would suffice. Will that work?

Additionally - I’m also running some 12v LED lights in the cabinets. I’m anticipating using 22AWG for these. Can I use the 18AWG Instead? That way I don’t have to buy 2 different spools.

Thanks folks!

I’d use 16 gauge through out. Easy to work with connectors are easier to use too.
That way if you decide to run something more than usb it’s there.

So you're going to run power outlets off the existing wiring for lights. How many circuits (fuses) control the lights from which you are going to power the outlets?

You might want to determine what kind of load is already on those circuits before hanging too many more outlets on them.

18 should suffice in both cases:
