Most of them saying NO to ESPs.
Take the money you would have spent on an ESP, stash it in an interest bearing (or stock account if that is your thing), and only draw on it for "covered" repairs. You'll end up way ahead of the game and not have to deal with claim refusals.

I have always found that a maintenance savings account works best for taking care of the coach. Put a pre-determined amount in an account every month and then spend it on the repairs or routine maintenance items as they occur. I have one for my RV and so far the repairs have not even put a dent into it.

If whoever writes the policy also has the fleet of service vehicles (AAA, BoatUS & SeaTow etc.) then it might be comforting for you. Most of them are nothing but 3rd party companies depending on whatever independent service provider they can wake up and get on the road at 3AM. They are totally dependent on people they do not employee. If you break down, do a Google search for service, you'll get the same people they use and they pay them with credit cards...just like you.

Extended Warranty
Just had my first experience with my extended warranty. Have 2019 A30 and the slide quit working. You could luckily override it by going to the board and pressing the button 7 times. We were in Donna Texas and we could not find anyone that would look at it if I used the warranty. We able to finish the trip and got it in for service at Camper World, where we bought it. After two months of sitting in there lot, they finally worked on it. Found it was the slide motor, and a screw was hitting the motor ever time it opened and closed which damaged it. The warranty would not cover any of the cost since they said it was the manufacturers fault. Good bye $1413.

That sums up what 95% of people find out...too many exclusions and reasons not to cover a claim...plus, not many dealers or service facilities will honor their program(s). In the middle of the night and/or during your worst nightmare with a failed part or system...Cash is King!! It gets people out of bed and opens garage doors.

Exactly. Was that the repair cost? Or the warranty cost?

I paid for the warranty at the time of purchase of my motor home. It was close to $5000, plus being financed at the time. This was in 2019. Luckily I only purchased the house warranty, and not motor and running train. That would have been several thousand extra.

Read and implement the cancellation provisions of the extended service plan. Usually you contact the selling dealer and tell them you want to cancel and they complete the paperwork. You sign the cancellation and then wait for the prorated refund.
Cut you loses.

I have had great luck with warranties overall, but that was with cars and appliances. Usually you never use them half the time, since the item don't break until after the warranty runs out. That was one few times I have been suckered into an extended warranty. Lesson learned on motor homes.

The most important part of any warranty is not what is covered but what is not covered.
Before buying any warranty read the exclusions five time.

And...those are the only items that will break most of the time. They KNOW what not to warrant.
