Window tint

Just finished tinting the front side windows. Easy job. I used 20% tint the same as my vehicle. I took a picture just before I finished so you can see the difference.

Ebay here is a pic. If you order make sure that it is the 24"width. Hope this helps.

Sorry it was a screen shot and it didn't transfer. Just remember most of the windows are 24".

My tops were already tinted from the factory. I would be interested to see yours usually 50% is limo tint and way to dark for me.

I have been saying I will get this done, but I haven't set aside any time to do it. Im sure it will be a noticeable difference in temperature and comfort while driving.

We live in south western Nevada, 50 miles from Death Valley, where it is not unusual for summer temperatures to exceed 100 degrees.

We just purchased as Thor Hurricane S31 and the first modification we did was to tint the windows. The factory tint seem mostly cosmetic and did nothing to reduce heat. We did the work ourselves and it took one day. We used nano ceramic 5% tint on all windows except the windshield. This effectively reduced the inside temperature by 15 degrees on the hottest days.

We purchased the tint from windowtint.com. They sell various types (grades) and VLT % tints. It comes in rolls of 10 feet or more and widths of 20 to 60 inches.

I did our class C coach, bought a pre-cut piece. made a difference in the front cab area.

Front side window tint is on my "to-do" list for when we get home. Right now we are camped on a site that has sun all day. Even with front and side shades down the drive area is always warmer. Even a light tint has got to help that front area.

I have always had a tint shop do my cars, but since a MH has perfectly flat glass it should be pretty easy, right?

Keep the glass wet with a soapy solution, use a silicon squeegee to work out the air bulbs. don't rush it .

For those who hate sun in their eyes but don't want to, or can't tint their windows, I have another suggestion.

Go to Wal-Mart and buy a package of sunshades. They are folded up in a package of two, have two suction cups, and a mesh screen material, about 14" x 18" long, and a wire rim around the edge. By accident I discovered they fit the upper window perfectly. Remove the suction cups, the screen fits in to lip that runs at top and bottom of windows. You can easily slide the screen to position it where needed. The screen doesn't do a great job of blocking the sun so I sewed some material on top of the screen.

I like the screens because they stay in place, slide easily, COMPLETELY block the sun, and they were cheap. My wife won't let me hang wallpaper so I figured I better not do window tint either!
