Windshield wiper covers
Living in Texas the sun and heat take a toll on everything! As many will know replacement wipers are Expensive! I haven't figured out how to post pictures from my iPad but will try to explain my easy wiper covers.
Buy a foam swim noodle with the hole down the middle, split one side with a razor knife, cut a length about 2-3 inches longer than your wiper. Lift wiper and slide tube between it and the windshield. Now your wiper is protected, won't stick to the windshield, and should last a lot longer.
I used a bright green noodle so I will be reminded to remove it before driving. Previously I had used sections of 1" foam pipe insulation which is black, i forgot to remove it a couple of times so I switched to the bright green.
The noodles are cheap and can be found a many stores that sell swim gear. Since its late in the season the noodles may be hard to find, bet Amazon has them year round.

I do a similar thing to protect one of the awning arms from the door (on the Axis/Vegas units the door opens right into the awning arm):
The foam insulation/pool noodles have a variety of camping applications!

It never ceases to amaze me how multi purpose simple things can be. Great solution!

I also multi task the noodles. Mine cover the wipers while parked and my noggin, when we are camping. I put them on the awning arms so I don't bang my head again like I did last year. Split the bridge of my nose wide open as we were breaking camp up in St. Augustine. Cheap and easy solution.

You can also use 1 inch pipe insulation. It's even cheaper and you can purchase it already split..

Ouch was not exactly what was uttered, but something similar. It hurt like heck, probably should have had stitches. The noodles do work!

I use the pipe insulation on the bottom of the bedroom slide... It extends out over the rear storage door - which I am regularly in...
Can't count the number of times it has helped already. My head is much happier.
I'll cut another one up for the wipers when I get back to my RV in FL.

Nice! Now I wonder if I can slide one under the bathroom door that swings open. The door takes some force to open so when it does let loose, it swings out with some nice force ... I've smacked my toe a few times with it and it's nooo fun.

Only reason I use the green swim tubes is they are easy to see and stand out no matter where you put them. I did use some pipe insulation on my propane hose where it was rubbing on the access door, didn't want a hole in my hose.

I bought cheap noodles from the dollar store and put them on my wipers. They are still and don’t allow the wiper go back to its curved shape. The center touches the windshield. The ends of the blades are about 1” off the glass.
Will this damage the wipers? Will they “learn” to be straight and not press enough to wipe efficiently?
Or should I just spend the $20-30 to buy wiper covers?
Thanks!

I had one of those blue generic tarps floating around. With a roll of duct tape and a pair of stapling pliers I made my own.

Sun guard Wiper Covers come in handy and look much better than pool noodles.

Thank you. I’ve got a set on order. Yep - they’ll look much better than the noodles!

When not using the coach, I remove the wiper blades and put them on table inside until ready for next trip. This FL sun can cook them quickly.

FYI Sunguard makes matching mirror covers as well. Like vinyl wheel covers, adds those fine touches.

I’ll tell ya. I posed my question on this forum and on a FB group.
The folks on this forum were / are extremely helpful.
The FB responses? They’re asking me why. They’re telling me not to and to replace. One even alluded that I’m cheap - owning a coach and worrying about a $70 per year replacement.
I like this forum. FB sux...
