central vacuum

Has anyone installed one of the central vacuum systems in their RV?

We're looking at getting a Thor Challenger 37tb and one of the things we're considering adding is a Dirt Devil central Vacuum system. Just curious if anyone has installed one in their RV and if so, is there any tips you might provide?

Thanks,

Charlie

I just install one in my 2016 Miramar. The hose valve was placed on a panel below the Pantry cabinet. It is a access panel to the heating ducts. There I drill a hole in the floor to the bottom storage compartment where I mounted the vac unit.
Under the fridge, there is another access panel where I found the 120v AC for the Fridge, i decided to use that for the fridge and vac. I checked to see if the ckt breaker would trip with powering both and so far it hasn't. I used an extention cord down to the vac from there. Run your cord down the hose hole first before the vac piping.
My vac is in the narrow compartment, which made mounting the unit difficult. Try running the vac hose into the lower compartment from below the fridge into the larger compartment but keep the value in the access panel under the pantry.
Hope this helps.

central vac install

My posting doesn't really help for the Challenger 37TB. There is a Utube on installing a Dirt devil central vac. It will give you the basics of what needs to be done.

Thanks. I'd seen the video from RV Education 101... looks pretty straight forward and I told the wife, if we add it, I'll add it myself instead of asking the dealership to do so. We have other things we want the dealership to do, such as improvements to the steering and handling... things I don't feel comfortable with doing myself.
