Yes, for $50 a month and no equipment costs our Verizon home unit works fine. Might consider Starlink if full time.

Yes. There is a "Roaming" flag in users accounts which has recently been set to "True" allowing people to take their Starlink on the road.

See the video I posted on page 1.

When Starlink completes the grid of satellites, it will become the (although comparatively expensive) defacto standard for internet in remote areas and mountainous regions where tower based telcomms don't exist. This has been Elon Musk's stated purpose for the service from the beginning.

As Starlink continues filling in the gaps, it will eventually be directly competing with existing tower based systems in metro areas. Depending on the eventual user base in these metro areas, I think you'll see Starlink speeds drop significantly as the available bandwidth shrinks... just the natural laws of physics.

I don't think you'll see Starlink take over metro areas, who already have saturated tower systems and user bases. That's NOT Starlink's niche market. Musk isn't going to waste resources trying to compete there.

Starlink is shaping up to be exactly what was advertised... a service to fill the gaps where it's not profitable for tower based telcomms to exist... and that's a VAST area. Eventually the oceans will be covered, and likely airlines will offer a connected service.

Yeah Buddy! Internet from Space!

I just put down a deposit for my Starlink system. I had to use my in-law’s address to get on the list for 2023. My home in Florida had no timetable of when it would be available.

I’m hoping I get it early and sometime this year but really want it before we leave for Alaska next year.

Hey Judge and all that asked.

MacDaddy Star Link Review!

So took it to cedar island NC, 1/2 dozen Rigs with us on this May Trip.

I slapped dish on picnic table, plugged in to power on side of rig!

Connected my Wingard to my Star Link, have 10 items in rig that hook to my winegard.

Then I setup up 2nd SSID on my Winegard. Gave that out to my 6 other RV'ers with us.

3 Winegards connected to mine, 3 other rigs hooked to rigs hook to me! Easily 40 devices connected to the MacDaddy Starlink Network!

Fast! never below 1/2 gig on speed test.

It was like I was running my own ISP again! HA

I bet I could run small RV park on just one dish.

does cost some 100 bucks month and 25 extra for roaming!

Can turn off when not using, like that!

quite impressed so far! Have ladder attachment pole on it's way

So. We searched locations where we planned going on our last trip. Found that a campground where we were staying was a place that Starlink would send right away. Used RV park as home and the dish was waiting for us on arrival. Roamed while on trip then changed home to our actual home and all is well.

See the thread I started a couple days ago about StarLink now offering RV service. It’s $135/mo but you can pause and unpause the service without penalty or account cancellation and you can get service in areas they are in the process of brining online now.

StarLink in the Trees Test

I live in the woods, I dragged the dish out in open area, within ten minutes had the 200 meg download and 40 meg upload.

Takes the system about 12 hours to show you a Visibility report.

While I was out there, I found Duck's baby children in my Pond! Ha
