Have a great Labor Day Weekend!

The Missus and I are heading out this morning for a week's worth of camping up in Cooperstown. Since there is no internet access there (): I wanted to wish you all a Happy, Safe, and Fun Labor Day, and we''ll see you all next weekend.

We're Headed To California.
Grandson has no concept of things like
'take leave the week before the big holiday, have someone else pay you to stand their duty on the holiday, and avoid the rush while getting someone to pay you $300.'

Nope.
So we'll not get near a steak house, not get near a sushi place and for 1,000 miles we'll deal with the mobile chicane motorhomes of the
Three weekends a year
Gang.

Someone pleasant just pmd me to tell me it'll be 110ish where I'm going.
That'll be 15 degrees cooler than the Mohave desert well be crossing for four hours....
Were taking the f150. MotorHome is not our friend at those Temps.

We'll bitch about the heat but we do it all the time....

That's the good thing about being retired. I can sit at the house and enjoy holidays while everyone else scrambles for camping sites and deals with traffic. I'll hit the road after the dust settles.
I'm heading out in the morning for one of Arkansas's state parks for several days. After that I' heading to Missouri for several days. After that I don't know yet.

The Weather here just North of Cooperstown has been beautiful.
It was fun watching everybody else pulling up stakes and heading out this morning at the 11:00 am bewitching hour. We relaxed and took the Toad out for a short drive toward Oneonta (South...)
Tomorrow: we'll pick some fresh corn that they grow here for the campers, and add it to the Dinnertime menu.
If I could just figure out how to post pics from this smartphone... The scenery is unbelievable!

We're back home, just now.
Smoke was incredibly thick for 90 percent of the way.
We were opposite traffic to cifornia and Opposite coming home.

118 was the high again today just outside of Havasu.
I don't think we were involved with five motorhomes or trailers the whole trip.

We still have ash and smoke all around us from the Azusa Fire. It was much cooler yesterday at 89.

Lucky this time they were a distance away and no threat to us this time. We had to evacuate back in 2018 for a few days when we had the fires on our street/hillside. Not a good thing back then. Lucky no fire damage just some smoke issues inside.

We have had a picture perfect day here. The temperatures are in the low eighties, there's not a cloud in the sky, and there's only about 10 RVs in the Park.
We picked some corn for this evening's Supper, and spent the afternoon playing Monopoly out under the awning.
This relaxing S*** is actually kind of neat!

Only two more days...
I actually wish that they didn't have to end.
We got to see a 2020 Tiffin Zephyr today. It came in and parked three sites away.
WOW!!

We're safely home, and the Camper is unloaded, up on it's jacks, and tied into shore power.
We averaged 13.7 mpg while towing the Smart. I'm impressed with that because I had my foot to the floor on the really steep grades.

Unfortunately: this trips wraps up our camping season.
Over the next couple of weeks; we'll clean it out, and get it ready for storage. We have a couple of big changes that we'll have the dealership address during the off-season, and there are also some small issues that we'd like them to address.
Overall it was a great season for us. We used the rig 21 nights in 2020. That's a threefold jump in utilization.
