2018 Honda Gold Wing

I have a Honda Thor 2020 Chateau 28A. I also am a avid Honda Gold Wing rider. Any bike riders here? If so do you trailer your bike or ride to the campground. If you trailer which brand & model? Thanks!

I have a 6 x 12 v-nose enclosed trailer to haul my 2005 Honda 1300 VTX Trike. The trailer doubles as a walk in closet for the wife. Happy wife happy life.

I have a Can-Am Spyder and used to haul it in my Outlaw 29H toyhauler. We moved to a Magnitude Super C last fall and I bought an Aluma Motorcycle Trailer to tow it wherever we go.

I purchased the Aluma MC210 two place trailer and it is perfect for a 3-wheeler.

They also make single place and folding motorcycle trailers. They make a very nice trailer.

Aluma 2 bike trailer

Trailer only weights 600 lbs w almost 2400 lb load capacity.

It comes w 2 bike chocks (not shown) but I also added place for an already owned chock.

But I had plans to haul VW on it but haven't had a need to yet. Bug only weights about 1800 and I have seen the little Two-for cars (2200 lbs) on this trailer. I talked to Aluma before loading and they said go for it. Came out w about 250 tongue weight when loaded. Maybe take it somewhere soon. Thx Dennis.

I have a 10 ft cargo trailer that I will use to haul my BMW 1200GS with. We're getting a 2018 Four Winds 24HL this week to tow it with.

Iron Horse motorcycles trailers are expensive...
But their quality makes them worth it!

Due to Covid-19 I'm stuck at home in Winnipeg and our 2017 Sprinter Siesta is stuck in storage in Goodyear AZ. Waiting for a trip to retrieve it.

I have several motorcycles, mostly BMW's and have used a couple of different trailers to tow. I now have a 14 X 7 H&H enclosed V-nose that will pull well behind the Siesta. I also have a Kendon Folding Standup trailer that I've used a lot for long hauls. It stores well. The biggest load on that was my brother's GL1800 and my ST1300 out to Nevada and back behind a Volvo S80 V8 a few years ago.

Unless you want a small enclosed trailer check out the Kendon and you may find that there are some for sale. My brother and I both have them and we were able to find them used. Have probably hauled over 20,000 miles on mine without an issue.

Behind my newish Siesta I haul a tow dolly and an Audi A4 Cabriolet. I've pulled that combo through blizzards and over the passes on I70 without any problems so a small trailer with the GL1800 will work.

As to riding to the location, my issue is that often we are covering nearly 2000 miles from Winnipeg to the Phoenix area as quickly as we can on limited vacation time. My wife would prefer not do that drive while I ride and this way I save expensive rubber on my bikes t be put to better use on 89a to Jerome or the like!

No shame in towing.

We started RV travel with a MC tow, but have downsized and love it.

We toured for years in US and Europe on a big BMW touring bike. Amazing experience; luckily a perfect safety record.

As we moved into our 70's, we got a small RV(25ft) and towed the MC on a Kendon standup MC trailer. It's a great trailer. The ones built after 2004 have a suspension that allow uneven loading and tow perfectly. Of course, standup storage saves lots of yard space.

The RV travel was wonderful, but towing and loading the MC was a bit of a pain.

The solution: a tandem bicycle with e assist. A minute to mount on a modified rear rack. The battery has 60 mile range, 35 mph if needed and it climbs like a goat. Cities and National Parks are perfect rides with never a parking problem or expense. The MC and beer belly are gone, but still have the MC trailer if anyone is interested.

If I'm not pulling my Toad I'm pulling my Bike

MY RV is a Thor Four Winds 26 B.
I've been riding for 50 years. My current bikes are 2006 Gold Wing and a 1999 Valkyrie Interstate. I like things that can have multiple uses. So I bought a 5X12 Landscape trailer (with spring loaded ramp) with 15 in wheels and installed a wheel chock and bolted on a sheet of 3x4 in marine plywood to the front for a rock shield. I sealed and painted the rock shield to match the trailer. I also installed a couple of rows of E-Track (bolted through the wood floor into the frame) to tie down the bike and anything else I haul. If I'm not using the trailer to haul the bike I can use it to make dump runs, pick up garden or construction supplies, haul the
ATV's, etc...
I've had this set up for about 6 years and have pulled it all over the country. It works and pulls great.

Got an Alumna - similar Budman's - couple years ago to haul the 2003 GW Trike. I did install a Harbor Freight wheelchock up forward. And installed a couple 5.62 Metal ammo cans on either side of the wheelchock to keep rachett tiedowns and miscellanous lines and ropes handy.

I also multi-tasked my trailer by installing brackets to hold removal homemade siderails so I can haul "other things".

5.56 Ties down storage

Calman, that's great idea on how to repurpose Ammo Cans. I see a all of my trailers being outfitted with Ammo cans in the near future. That will help declutter my basement too.

I did it because I wanted to keep the tiedowns, lines and ropes where I could find them EVERY TIME I needed them. In other words, not get to a distination and find the tiedowns were still in the garage. Collected several sets of tiedowns that way.

2012 Goldwing with California Sidecar Trike conversion. I have traveled over 10000 miles with the 29H carrying the Goldwing with no issues.

How tight is the fit in the garage?
My Spyder didn't leave room for much of anything else...

Hi Bob, My Goldwing Trike is 10 feet overall length and my 29 H garage is only 9 feet long. To solve this problem, I let the front wheel extend 1 foot through the door seperating the front living area. I made a stop block that sits on the door sill to stop the Goldwing at the correct spot when i am loading. I attempted to post a picture, lf it does not show here look in the Photo section.
