ducksface, glad all went well. You put a lot of effort into it. Too cold to smoke the prime rib. Slow cooking and almost done in the oven. Oven set to 200F. Stop at 135F internal temp. My wife likes hers well done and I do not do well done! 135F is a compromise. My son and daughter in law should be her any minuet, but always calls and are half hour late. Good for me so the roast can sit for fifteen to twenty minuets. Have a happy Christmas and new year to all.

As far as ending at ten, when I was a kid I was going to stay up and watch all the late night shows. I found out that at ten I was exhausted and went to bed. I asked my dad and he said he and my mom went to bed at 9:30 and sometimes at ten. The only time I watched Johnny Carson was when I worked swing shift. This is pre VCR recording. Never owned a BETA recorder. Wow do I date myself? My son is going to be here 20 minuets late. I told my wife that I was going to give him an Archie Bunker response. She reminded me that he never watched and my not know about Archie Bunker! DOH!

8 pound ham, 4 pound roast beef and a fabulous 12 pound Prime Rib will be cooking beginning early Christmas morning for the Christmas dinner fiesta at my house. The entire crew from all over America has descended on my home for the holidays and I'm feeding this army. The fireplace will be blazing, children playing games, adults enjoying conversations over cocktails, soft holiday music streaming through the house, a group in the family room glued to the holiday Christmas movies and wife and I puttering throughout the kitchen and dining room getting everything ready and in its's place.

The work is OMG tiring but I wouldn't have it any other way.

Cancelled Christmas.
Spousal unit and I have a very bad Cough, no other symptoms.
No fever
Sinus is very Clear.
Cough is wearing us out physically, but no aches or pains or chills.

Duck, I’m so very sorry to hear this. Make sure you stay on top of that cough. Y’all probably exhausted yourself with the neighborhood party. Keep us posted on how you are both feeling. Rest, drink lots of water, but also make certain to move around quite frequently. Take care!

Pam
